We are continuing our project and significant strides have been made in the bathtub and shower department!

Our bathtub surround used to be a Tuscan tile monolith:

Now the surround is quartz and is fronted with classic paneling:

The shower was formerly ensconced in gold framing and frosted glass with more Tuscan tile and chrome and gold fixtures:

New shower door (handle below is still on order) and glass surround, shiny white subway tile and ceramic hexagon tile for the niche and floor.  The shower was enlarged by about 8 inches to now include a ledge.  Some caulking and other finishing still needs to be completed but it is looking good!

Special order chrome shower door handle (I haaaaate the rounded one that came with the door – it looks like a handicap grab bar):

Starting to “style”/accessorize (my favorite part!) the bathroom:

Also, below is the chandelier I chose (from Shades of Light – Tulum Chandelier – $334):

Painting by Colleen Leach for far wall over tub + more plants:

Items still need/to-do:

1. I need to find a way to attractively have the 3 mirrors framed.  I like how large the mirrors are and the light the mirrors reflect so I do want to keep them but right now they still look builder grade and unfinished.  I am leaning toward a custom beveled glass/mirror frame and need to call a local glass and mirror company for an estimate.

2. The bath tub knobs/faucet need to be painted chrome (they are gold).

3. I need to have the chandelier installed but I ordered a chandelier for my sitting room and once that arrives I will have the contractor come hang both.

4. I may have new door fronts and drawer fronts made and put on the vanities and I for sure need to buy new knobs and pulls. I really like the different lines put out by Addison Weeks (see below) but they are expensive (like $60 – $80 per) so I need to decide if I want to splurge or if I can find style and drama (always looking for drama – heehee) for less.

To be continued…
